Using the Right Terminology in Underwater Acoustics
In the field of underwater acoustics, 'source level' and 'sound pressure level' are both expressed in decibels (dB), but represent different physical quantities whose values are not comparable. Our new infographic shines a light on these sometimes confused terms by making an analogy to light.
