Roberto Yubero (TSI) and Christ de Jong (TNO) - WP2
We would like to thank our SATURN colleagues Roberto Yubero (TSI) and Christ de Jong (TNO) for their recent participation in the meeting of 'The Tripartite Working Group'. Tripartite is a collaborative group of associations that meets annually, and represents ship builders, classification societies, and shipowners. When it was initially founded, Tripartite was designed to support the establishment of the Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Tankers, however, in recent years its work has been extended to include other important industry issues.
Roberto and Christ were invited by a representative from the International Chamber of Shipping to present the outcomes of the SATURN project as presented in the project's 'Final Report on Vessel URN Measurements'.
In their presentation they covered key topics including:
SATURN project and performed URN measurements
Comparison of URN signatures of a certain vessel under different methods
Introduction of ISO 17208-3 (first international standard to measure URN from vessels in shallow water; ongoing)
Demonstration of the accuracy of ISO 17208-3
